Air Activities Staged Activity Badge
We’ve recently updated the requirements for this badge. Young people can work towards the old or new requirements until the 30 June 2026. From the 1 July 2026, young people must follow the new requirements on this page. You can find a copy of the old badge requirements in the ‘Tips’ section.
How to earn your badge:
Make an aircraft out of paper and see how well it flies.
You could try flying them into a bucket or through a hoop!
Identify four different types of aircraft.
For example, aeroplanes, helicopters, gliders or hot air balloons.
Describe any aircraft (including fictional) you’d like to fly in and explain why.
Present your idea in a creative way, such as artwork, presentations, digital designs or models.
Talk to someone who's flown in an aircraft.
What was it like? If you’ve already flown in an aircraft, tell someone else about it.
Learn about the different jobs an aircraft can do.
For example, transporting people, carrying goods, or helping in emergencies.
