Grants

Before Compass Freeze (until 6 November) 

  • As of 30 September no grant applications can be submitted.

During Compass Freeze (from 7 November)  

  • No Grant applications can be submitted. 
  • The Grants team will continue to provide information to volunteers and process in-flight applications. 

From Go-Live (From 21 November for Early Adopters and from 28 November for everyone else)

  • Grant applications must be submitted through the new digital system. 

Awards

Before Compass Freeze (until 6 November) 

As of 30 September no Good Service Awards can be submitted.  

The following processes will remain available from 1 October:

Information on the fast-track process will remain on the website. Volunteers must contact the Awards team (awards@scouts.org.uk) to arrange this. 

  • The Awards Team will be able to issue fast-track awards in extenuating circumstances between 30 September and Go-Live.
  • Fast-track awards will be recorded on Compass by the Awards team until 6 November.

During Compass Freeze (from 7 November) 

  • No Good Service Awards can be submitted.
  • Meritorious Conduct and Gallantry award nominations continue to follow current process.

From Go-Live (From 21 November for Early Adopters and from 28 November for everyone else) 

  • Volunteers will be able to nominate members for Good Service Awards through the new digital system.
  • Meritorious Conduct and Gallantry award nominations continue to follow current process.
  • The Awards Team will record any fast-track awards issued while Compass is offline on the volunteer’s record.
