Lone Working on Site
There are occasions where individuals may need to be on site without others being around. Assess the risks involved in conjunction with your line manager. You should be aware that some tasks may be too difficult or dangerous to be carried out unaccompanied and be willing to adapt or not undertake the activity if necessary.
When assessing the risk you should consider:
- the environment – location, security, access
- the context – the nature of the task, any special circumstances
- the individuals concerned
- any other special circumstances
Ensure you have an effective InTouch system in place and take a look at the guidance on lone working.
