Award presentations
Award presentations
At every level, a young person’s achievement should be celebrated.
Young people who complete their Bronze and Silver award are usually presented with their certificate and badges by their District 14-24 Team Leader/Member or District Lead Volunteer locally, within their Explorer Unit or Network group.
Gold level presentations are normally more high profile, involving the County Lead Volunteer. Many Counties host a top award presentation evening. Young people and a guest of their choosing are also invited to a Royal presentation – usually at St. James' Palace – where they'll receive their certificate. It can take up to 12 months from a young person's award completion for this to take place.
Badges and certificates
As well as the DofE pin, there's a specific Scout badge for each award level, which can be worn on the left sleeve of the uniform. These are available from Scout Store. Only the highest award may be worn on the uniform at one time.
Bronze and Silver certificates are also available from County DofE Advisers. They need to filled in with the name of the young person and the date, before being presented to them on a suitable occasion.
