First aid on Compass

First aid on Compass

First Response training is divided in two modules, 10A and 10B.

Module 10A is the learning of the training, and covers Life Support, Major Illness, Trauma and Injury. The sessions can be completed in any order, or all together if attending a 6-hour face-to-face session.

When updating module 10A on Compass, you should select the delivery method and date of each session completed. Module 10A is considered completed when all 3 sessions are registered on Compass.

Module 10B is the practical validation, where participants have to demonstrate specific parts of the Life Support section. Volunteers can only attend the practical validation once the theory part (all module 10A sessions) is completed.

From 31st October 2024 renewal of First Response will be taken from the date that 10A was completed.

You might find useful to use this simple log sheet to record people's progress through first aid training prior to updating it on Compass.

Read the First Aid Compliance and Reporting guidance for further details.
