First Response guidance for managers

General information on First Response compliance

Introduction

This guidance provides information on First Aid compliance and support when line managing volunteers who are required to complete First Response training (or it’s equivalent) at Scouts.

The Scouts First Response course covers the skills and knowledge necessary to enable volunteers to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. Our First Response programme has been developed in collaboration with Girlguiding, with a common syllabus, resources and acceptance between the two organisations.

The First Response Course is designed specifically for adults in The Scouts and Girlguiding, based on the situations and issues that occur within those roles. It is not, therefore, externally recognised.

If, after reading this guidance, you require additional support, please contact the Scouts Support Centre via live chat, or email your query to support@scouts.org.uk.
