Adventurous activities

Taking part in adventurous Scout activities strengthens the body, relaxes the mind and allows young people to mix with friends and have a good time.

During these times, Muslim Scouts can think about how Allah gave them the healthy body and the ability to play and have fun.

Muslim’s show appreciation for (Allah’s) bounty by saying ‘Alhamdulillah’, which means ‘All praise and gratitude is to Allah’.

Adventurous activities, especially trying something for the first time, can also mean being brave. Scouts could reflect on the importance of trying to be courageous and how the Prophet Muhammad showed many examples of bravery.

You could also try some of the sports activities that the Prophet Muhammad is said to have recommended and encouraged.

Reflection questions

  • Why do you think it’s important to try to be active and look after your body?
  • How did you feel before doing this activity? How did you feel after?
  • What helped you overcome any fears?
  • What values did you demonstrate when you took part in this activity?
