The Earth Tribe: Global Youth Movement for Sustainable Development
The European Region of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) has secured funding from the ERASMUS Youth fund for a ‘The Earth Tribe: Global Youth Movement for Sustainable Development’. The projects aims to improve the policies and processes of National Scout Organisation and local Scouting, by enabling young people to research, audit and advise on sustainability issues. It establishes five objectives:
- Create a network of youth organisations and environmental expert NGOs under the umbrella of the Earth Tribe (ET) to scale up non-formal educational resources on environmental protection and youth activism.
- Strengthen the capacities of youth organisations to continue delivering and offering innovative online and offline opportunities to their membership and ensuring access to all.
- Form a network of young people, active in civil society, empowered and connected to advocate and act towards a sustainable and green Europe.
- Enable other youth organisations and youth movements to replicate the project methodology and transform their structures to better tackle sustainable development at local, national, and European level.
- Provide online/offline learning opportunities open to all on climate change, biodiversity, nature loss and sustainable development
