The Earth Tribe Award is about helping us understand more about protecting our world. Find out how you can be a planet champion.
Choose one of the following pathways:
Champions for Nature
- Identify the need
Explore what nature is and about why plants, insects and animals need our help.
- Plan action
Think of some ways you can help plants, insects and animals. What do you want to change? Make a plan to help nature.
- Take action
It’s time to get started with your plan! Remember, you don’t need to do everything at once. Helping nature takes time.
- Learn and make more change
Think about what you learned about nature, and what you did to help. How did you make a difference? Think about what other things you can do, to make an even bigger difference/help even more.
- Tell the world
Think about what you learned about nature, and what you did to help. How did you make a difference? Think about what other things you can do, to make an even bigger difference.

- Identify the need
Explore what energy is, and where it can come from. Find out about renewable energy and why it’s important.
- Plan action
Think about ways people can use less energy. Choose some things you or your group can do to save energy, or help others to save energy.
- Take action
It’s time to now save energy or help other people to save energy. Remember, you don’t need to do everything at once. Change takes time.
- Learn and make more change
Think about what you learned and how you helped save energy. What else could you do to make an even bigger difference?
- Tell the world
Tell other people about what you did to save energy and why it's important.
Tide Turners
- Identify the need
Explore why it's important to keep your local area clean. Find out how our non-recycled waste can cause problems for people, animals, insects and plants.
- Plan action
Think of some ways you can help to keep our community clean, make less non-recycled waste, and help others do this too. Choose or pick some of these you want to do and make a plan.
- Take action
Work together to make a difference - help make less non-recycled waste and keep your community clean.
- Learn and make more change
Think about what you’ve learned and what you did to help your local community. Think of some more things you could do to help.
- Tell the world
Tell other people about what you did to help, and why it’s important.
Tips
- You only need to complete one pathway to earn your award, but you can complete all the pathways multiple times.
- The Earth Tribe Award pathways follow a similar structure to the Community Impact Staged badges, so you can draw on past experiences.
Once you have completed your pathway you can pre-order your Earth Tribe Award from Scout Store.
- The Earth Tribe Award goes on your right arm, under the District and County/Area/Region badges.
