Squirrels appeal: Inspire a new generation with skills for life
We're celebrating a whole year of Squirrels, and your generosity will go a long way.
We’re over the moon to be celebrating a year of Squirrels. It’s been an exciting first year, with our Early Years programme reaching 11,000 young people aged 4–6.
After the isolation and difficulties of the pandemic, Squirrels is giving young people experiences they missed out on. We made sure Squirrels would support underserved communities, and those struggling after the pandemic.
Squirrels has given a new age group the opportunity to explore the outdoors, make new friends, and start learning skills for life. It’s a safe, positive environment for our youngest members to develop.
Now, young people need Scouts more than ever. If you’re able to give a special gift to Squirrels, no matter how big or small, we’d be so grateful.

Your gift will go a long way
Your gift to Squirrels will help us recruit 12,000 new volunteers, so even more young people can experience the joy of our youngest section. It’ll truly make all the difference.
It can cost just £2.50 a week for a young person to go to Squirrels. For families struggling with the cost of living, even this can be too much for them.
Across the UK, there are 24,000 4–6 year olds eager to join Squirrels.
- £5 could send a young person to Squirrels for two weeks
- £10 could buy a set of story books
- £15 could give a Squirrel Drey a set of badges
- £25 could pay for two Squirrel uniforms
- £100 could pay for a Squirrel's membership for a year
We’ll greatly appreciate any gift you can spare.
Every gift helps us get a step closer to welcoming more 4–6 year olds to Squirrels.
To all the volunteers and donors who support Squirrels, we’d like to say a big thank you for your time and dedication. We couldn’t do it without you.
