Squeaky clean
You’ll need
- Two objects to clean
- Cleaning materials
- Everyone should find two items suitable for cleaning. These could be things like a kitchen cupboard, a sink, a table top or a piece of polished brass.
- Everyone should get the materials they need to clean them properly, roll up their sleeves and put in some effort so they sparkle.
- Everyone should take a picture to show their efforts and compare how dirty the item was before.
Reflection
This activity was about being independent, and learning to properly clean items at home without being asked. How could you make this a regular habit? Can you think of anything else at home that needs a good clean? How might someone in your family feel if they saw you had done some cleaning?
Safety
All activities must be safely managed. You must complete a thorough risk assessment and take appropriate steps to reduce risk. Use the safety checklist to help you plan and risk assess your activity. Always get approval for the activity, and have suitable supervision and an InTouch process.
Choose items that are simpler or more complex to clean, regarding their shape, size and materials.
Make it accessible
All Scout activities should be inclusive and accessible.
