Philippa Ward, the Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation, is accountable for leading the strategic transformation across the organisation. She is responsible for strategic planning, leading our portfolio of transformation projects, and ensuring our culture is being shaped for future needs. She also oversees digital and data, our equity, diversity and inclusion work, and our improvement, change and PMO functions.
Philippa has led internal operations and change in environmental and youth charities over the past decade. Before Scouts, she was Head of Organisational Development at FareShare, the food surplus charity that was key to supporting 11,000 people through the pandemic. She joined Scouts in 2021 as Chief of Staff and moved to Interim COO nine months later, before stepping into the new role of Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation.
Through her career Philippa has worked with ambitious charities undergoing transformation and has led award-winning consultancy change projects with Tesco and the NHS. She was Interim COO at the community youth charity The Winchester Project, and Executive Partner and Youth Lead at Global Action Plan.
Philippa is a qualified and practising coach (CPCC) who trained with the Coaches Training Institute. Philippa holds an MA in Modern History from Magdalen College, Oxford, and was a journalist and editor for the first decade of her career.
