What is the Earth Tribe Award?
An inspiring global environmental challenge to help all Scouts:
- Understand the world around them, and the dangers our planet faces.
- Become environmentally conscious, active global citizens and be a planet champion.
- Take action now and in the future to protect our planet and create a better world.
Why Earth Tribe?
The Children’s People and Nature Survey found that 83% of young people aged between 8 -15 agreed that looking after the environment was important to them. That’s nearly 8 in every 10 young people. Earth Tribe will allow young people to gain skills and help create a better world.
What do you need to do?
There are three pathways looking into different themes around sustainability. You need to complete the requirements for one of the pathways to earn your Earth Tribe award.

Yes, all sections from Squirrels to Network will be able to gain their Earth Tribe Award.
You can buy the Earth Tribe Award badges from Scout Store.
The Earth Tribe Award is just for young people in Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Explorers and Network. However, adult volunteers are crucial to supporting this Award and programme. Because of this we have created a blanket badge which will be available to purchase through Scout Store very soon.
Yes, you can complete the Earth Tribe Award as you move through the sections. Each section has its own badge.
The Earth Tribe Award goes on your right arm, under the District and County/Area/Region badges.

Earth Tribe was created by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and you can share your Earth Tribe story with other Scouts taking part from across the globe.
