Heritage Research Assistant (Temporary) (Ref: 14/099)

The Archive and Heritage Department receive a wide range of enquiries regarding the history and development of the Scouting movement both in the UK and internationally.  This role focuses on using the Heritage Collection to support these users in their research either by conducting research on their behalf or by hosting their visit to the Collection and supporting primary research.
The job holder will also support enquiries from other departments providing source material for various subjects and events enabling key areas of work to be delivered.  
The Archive and Heritage Department is developing a team of Heritage Volunteers who help deliver core areas of work including Collection cataloguing and research.  The job holder may have to supervise and support volunteers to ensure work is carried out to industry standards.

Scouting Operations Adviser - Adventure Programme (Ref: 14/098)

The role of Operations Adviser (Adventure Programme) works within the Youth Programme team to develop and support the outdoor education aspect of the scouting Programme, in addition to supporting other programme areas as required such as creative and digital technology.  The job holder will also work with National Governing Body organisations and other specialists and experts to ensure that our advice on adventurous activities is informed by industry best practice and enables Scouts to take part in safe experiences.

The focus of the Scouting Operations Adviser (Adult Training) role is the maintenance, support and development of adult training within The Scout Association. Safeguarding Support Officer (Ref: 14/094)

As part of the safeguarding team you will provide significant administration support to an established team of Safeguarding Advisors. The post holder will ensure that the Safeguarding Advisers are supported in the effective management of their casework; this will involve a considerable amount of liaison work with statutory agencies, volunteers and staff. When required, and under supervision, you will be required to provide advice and guidance. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the Safeguarding Team diary and the collation of paperwork for meetings and case reviews. On occasions, the post holder will be expected to provide cover for the Safeguarding Team administrator.
