Safeguarding Support Officer (Ref: 15/008)

As part of the safeguarding team you will provide significant administration support to an established team of Safeguarding Advisors. The post holder will ensure that the Safeguarding Advisers are supported in the effective management of their casework; this will involve a considerable amount of liaison work with statutory agencies, volunteers and staff.

Customer Support Coordinator - Youlbury (Ref: 15/007)

The postholder will be responsible for receiving and responding to enquiries, administering all bookings including invoicing, coordinating the creation of activity programmes and maintaining accurate bookings and sales records.  Working closely with the centre’s operational team the postholder will ensure a seamless transition from booking to product delivery.

Schools Development Manager (Ref: 15/004)

As SDM a you will lead this exciting project overseeing the piloting of partnerships between Scouting and schools, in various different formats, with the aim of producing support materials for adult volunteers and educational practitioners, as well as recommendations for policy makers, so that the quality and frequency of such partnerships increases.

Help develop and deliver an exciting 12 month pilot project “Character by Doing” which seeks to tackle the barriers to character education, specifically in deprived areas, by taking an approach which gives school decision makers, teachers and parents the confidence to deliver a Scouting model.

To implement a robust vetting advisory support service to the Association and their volunteers.  The post holder will need to be self-confident and resilient to deal with challenging and emotional situations and have an understanding of statutory agencies  i.e. police, disclosure authorities in relation to vulnerable groups, children and vulnerable adults.

Development Intern x 3 - Bristol and surrounding area (Ref: 14/102)

The Scout Association and Pears foundation have come together to provide a unique opportunity to gain experience and develop skills whilst working as part of a project team.  The Pears project aims to open new Scouting provision across parts of Avon Scout County (youth sections for young people aged 6 -18yrs). The development interns will be lead by a project co-ordinator and will work with local volunteers to provide hands on practical support engaging with Schools, the community, partnership organisations and parents of the new youth members. The project aims to enable and deliver the recruitment of adults and young people and to open new sustainable Scout provision within the Scout County of Avon (Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire).
