Nights Away and Camping

Nights Away or residential events, such as camping or sleepovers, are a key part of Scouts. They’re something that every young person should have the opportunity to take part in.

From suggestions of available venues to details of how to gain a Nights Away permit that'll allow you to lead these events, there are various resources and directories available to help you plan, train for and carry out residential trips.

Don't forget every night away contributes to the Nights Away Staged Activity Badge, which is supported by GO Outdoors.

Nights Away Permit Scheme

Our Nights Away permit scheme shows that all those leading Nights Away events for young people within the Scouts have the skills, experience and personal suitability to take young people away safely.
