Boiling Water

Keep your Group entertained with this week's #BoredomBusters

Craft: Pom Poms

Got any leftover wool in the craft cupboard? Use up any scraps by making tiny pom poms, using a fork to wrap the wool around. Extend the craft session by turning them into Easter chicks or fluffy bunny tails.

Outdoor: Boiling Water Challenge

Suitable for older sections. Split the young people into teams and provide them with a bottle of water, some matches and a cooking pot. Then explain that this is a race to build a fire and boil their water. Make sure they work together as a team and stay safe around the fire and hot water.

Indoor: Marble Run

Challenge your Scouts to keep a small ball or marble off the floor for as long as possible. They can use anything they find in the meeting place - cardboard tubes from toilet rolls will work particularly well. Make it official by timing their runs with a stopwatch.

Food: Lemon Poppy-Seed Cookies

These cookies only take around 10 minutes to bake, and they're simple enough to make with any section. Take out the poppy-seeds if there are young people with allergies in your Group. Get the recipe here.
