Pre-order the Scouts' charity single, Let It Out today!

The Bright Sparks Project, in partnership with the Scouts, will be releasing its first single, Let It Out, on 3 November, and it’s available to pre-order now. All profits from the single go to UK Scouting.

Scouting for talent

Bright Sparks founder, Tony Lundon, of Liberty X fame, Scouted for talent among over half a million young people and adults in an online competition to discover a star for the first single. Kayleigh Ann Walters (pictured), aged 18 and a Scout from Birmingham, was chosen to record the track by a panel of judges that included Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten and Ben Forster, who’s best known for playing Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar.

The project offered Scouts the opportunity to work with industry professionals such as Iain James, who penned Emeli Sandé’s Read All About It and created the single Let It Out for Scouting.

Young, gifted and Scouts

The video for Let It Out was directed in east London by Emma, 17, a Scout from Manchester. It  features Scouts Alex, 15, from Essex, who will remix the single and Tom White, 15, from Peterborough, who recently won Young Photographer of the Year and shot a feature on Bright Sparks for the October/November issue of Scouting magazine.

The aim of the single is to raise the profile of Scouting, which provides life-changing opportunities to 400,000 young people across the UK.

Kayleigh said: ‘The single is very upbeat and current and I hope that people will realise that Scouting is too. I took part in the Bright Sparks Project as I love singing and entertaining and to be able to do something that I love and to help promote Scouting is a bonus. I had a fabulous time, learnt a lot and met some wonderful new friends.’
