Scouts make Children in Need appearance
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 1st Northop Hall in Flintshire are set to make an appearance on Children in Need tonight, when they will star in their very own film.
To say thank you for the Scouts' continuous efforts to raise funds for Children in Need, the BBC travelled to North Wales where the young people were filmed doing what they do best.
During the past few years, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts at 1st Northop have raised over a thousand pounds for the charity. Every year, the Group hosts cake sales and fancy dress evenings, complete with fun activities like sack races. The young people and adults all pay a contribution and the Group donates all the funds to Children in Need.
Lena Heaps, Beaver Scout Leader, said: ‘Children in Need is a cause that our young people are very aware of and is great for Scouts to support. It also fits really well with the Beavers' Programme, as the Friendship Challenge is about raising funds for charity.'
1st Northop will appear on Children in Need between 7.30pm and 10.30pm this evening.
Fundraising is vital for charities, including Scouting, and it can also provide great opportunities for your Group. Get involved
