Executive Committee Trainer Training

We are looking for new trainers who are keen to support local Executive Committee members. We are holding a training course over the weekend 23 - 24 March 2019 for those interested in supporting local Scouting governance.

Course Aim

The course will provide trainers with the knowledge, key messages and some suggested learning methods to enable you to deliver training to Executive Committee members in your County. The course will focus on:

  • the role, responsibilities and composition of Executive Committees
  • information and best practice to increase the effectiveness of Executive Committees
  • the roles of the officers
  • the recruitment and induction of committee members
  • financial management

Who should attend?

We’re looking for trainers specifically in Durham, Greater London North East, Guernsey, Hertfordshire, Isle of Man, Merseyside, Northumberland, South Yorkshire and Radnor in Wales, but the course is open to other Counties who would like to expand their team of trainers.

We are looking for experienced, effective trainers, who feel they would be able to take on the challenge of delivering training to Executive Committee Members at Group, District and County level in your area.  Prior knowledge/experience of the roles and responsibilities of Executive Committees is highly desirable, although the training course will cover various ways that this expertise can be built into any training delivered.

Places are limited for this event so initially only two trainers per County can register with priority given to those places listed above.

A cost of £50 for attendance at the event, to cover accommodation, meals, training and materials, will be charged for each participant.  A small amount of pre-course reading/work will be required to ensure a consistent basic level of knowledge and ability to participate fully throughout the training event.

£50 Cost includes:

  • Two days of training
  • Accommodation for Saturday night
  • Lunch on both days
  • Dinner for Saturday night
  • Breakfast for Sunday morning

Payment Information

The £50 cost for the event MUST be paid by Friday 1 February 2019 to secure your place.
