UK Programme Sponsor

With the launch of our new strategy we have several exciting programmes of work to deliver. All of these programmes will have an instrumental impact on Scouting in the UK. Their outcomes range from making the volunteer journey easier, to supporting more young people to gain top awards and skills for life. We need inspirational and motivated sponsors, who are innovative, excellent communicators and team players. They will work in partnership and be part of a programme board representing the movement and ensuring that the benefits of the programmes of work are realised.

We are asking applicants to look at the competency matrix at the back of the applicant’s pack which details the competencies we are looking for in these roles.

Based on feedback from the movement, in our new strategy we’re prioritising our Programme Planning, Adult Journey and Digital Transformation programmes of work. However, due to opportunities and strong links between these and two other programmes of work, work will be progressed in all five of the programmes we are recruiting for.

  • Programme Sponsor for Programme Planning
  • Programme Sponsor for Adult Journey
  • Programme Sponsor for Events
  • Programme Sponsor for Digital Transformation
  • Programme Sponsor for Extending the Reach

The appointments will be for differing time periods dependent on the life of the specific programme. The new strategy spans from 2018-2023, however programmes may finish before that time.

These are voluntary roles and as such are unremunerated, however, reasonable expenses in line with the Association’s Expenses Policy will be paid.

Successful applicants for roles must also become a member of The Scout Association, including successful conclusion of our vetting process, making the Promise and complete module 1 of our Adult Training Scheme.

Please ensure you carefully read the competency matrix at the end of the applicant pack prior to making your application, and refer to how you meet these competencies within your application. The application form can be downloaded here
