European Jamboree UK Programme Coordinator

For the European Jamboree 2020 (held in Gdansk, Poland) UK Scouts are being organised differently to a traditional UK Contingent in order to empower Counties and Nations to build an experience that is right for their local area.

Each County and Nation was offered the opportunity to take Unit(s) of young people and adult leaders, along with IST members from their area.

Part of the programme will be delivered by participating countries – for the UK this is three day-time programme items, along with evening activities which are scaled to the number of participants from each country. These programme elements will be run by a team of 12 pre-selected IST members.

  • An Evening Programme of walk-in, free time activities for approximately half the number of their participants, for the UK this will be at least 1000 people. Activities should be aligned with one of the three components of the evening programme; Active, Chill Out and Tedx (technology, education and design).
  • During the International Day “Power in Diversity” walk-in, free time activities organized mainly in subcamps, but the Contingent Tent can be used. Activities and displays/information should present the national traditions of the UK.
  • A Day-time Programme as part of the Modular Programme; the Scoutcraft module as part of the Wake Up programme pillars (based on 21st century skills). Activities are to be prepared in advance of the event and delivered in both the morning and the afternoon for a minimum of one patrol (9 youth members and 1 adult leader). The UK team will be providing three different activities, each running simultaneously for 3 hours.

We are recruiting a volunteer UK Programme Coordinator to design and deliver our required programme elements at the European Jamboree.
