Awards Advisory Group Members

This an exciting opportunity to join The Scout Association’s new Awards Advisory Group.

We are looking for applications from anyone over the age of 18, two positions within the Group are available for under 25 year olds and one position within the group for an individual who holds a Section Leader role currently. These roles will be pivotal in the shaping and creation of the new Awards Advisory Group and the implementation of the changes to the Award processes.

Time commitment 

As this is a new group a meeting schedule has not been set, however it is expected that there will be approx. 4-6 weekend meetings/events (one day of the weekend in most cases) per year. Monthly conference calls to discuss award applications and time spent reviewing award applications and providing support to members of the group and the organisation. 

Terms of appointment

Initial length appointment is up to three years term with a possibility of a further extension of up to three years. All members of the Awards Advisory Group are required to be a member or associate member of The Scout Association.

This is a voluntary membership role and is not remunerated, however, reasonable expenses in line with the Association’s Expenses Policy will be paid.

Interviews will take place on Sunday 20 May at Gilwell Park. Candidates need to be available for Gilwell Reunion on the weekend of 7-9 September 2018.
