    I was lucky enough to join Croydon District for their ‘District Awards Night’ - and hear the exploits of Christina and Lewis, Explorer Scouts who had been on an Alpine Adventure at Kandersteg with their Pinewood Seahorses ESU. Pinewood are a newly formed District ESU and already have 35 members!

    This week sees the launch of the first ever Trustees’ Week, a national celebration of the contribution made by trustees to charities in England and Wales. In Scouting, thousands of volunteers act as Trustees, doing invaluable work behind the scenes, and The Scout Association is taking the opportunity to shout about the great work done by men and women on Executive Committees across the country.

  • Cub Scout Leader performs in Commonwealth Games closing ceremony


    Richard Bolt, a Cub Scout Leader from Milton of Campsie, near Glasgow, has just returned from the 19th Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he took to the stage as part of a cast of 352 people in the closing ceremony. The eight-minute spectacle took place in a stadium of 60,000, and was watched by an audience of one billion worldwide.
