Into the wild with Steve Backshall and Helen Glover
Would you like to experience an unforgettable 24 hour adventure with our Scout Ambassadors in the heart of the Lake District?
The Scout Association, along with Steve Backshall and Helen Glover, is offering twenty lucky Scouts and Explorers (aged 13-18) the chance to win a place on a unique, 24 hour adventure at Great Tower on the shores of Lake Windermere on 14 -15 August 2017.
Guided by Steve and Helen themselves, the Scouts and Explorers will be challenged to navigate across rugged terrain, solving puzzles, testing their skills, before collecting the equipment and supplies they’ll need to survive the night.
They will then make a crossing by water before building shelters and preparing for a night under the stars. Cooking their own food, listening to some epic stories round the fire, this will be an adventure like no other – a true back to basics experience. Day two will include a hike into the hills and spectacular views of Britain’s best loved national park, plus some special surprises.
A test of adventure, teamwork, resilience and ingenuity, this is likely to be a life changing experience for the young people taking part.
Both Steve and Helen are well known for their inspiring work in the outdoors, whether that’s rowing to Olympic Gold, kayaking on some of the world’s wildest rivers, or working with some of the world’s most incredible wildlife. They will also be supported by The Scout Association’s staff team throughout.
