5-minute filler for Scouts | 12 April
Help your Scouts to think quickly and creatively with this active word game.
Ask your Scouts to start walking around the room in different directions.
Explain how the game works: You will call out a name and point to an object. The person whose name you called needs to shout out what it is NOT. So if you point at a window, they could shout out ‘phone’ or ‘dog’.
As they are walking around, randomly call out people’s names and point at objects.
Once they’ve got the hang of that, make it harder: Ask them to shout out what it is NOT but with a word that rhymes with, or sounds like, the object’s name. So if you point at a pen, they could shout out ‘den’ or ‘hen’ or ‘penny’ or ‘pin’.
