Apply to become a young content creator

AMH

If you’ve ever dreamed of writing for a popular blog, making videos for Youtube or sharing your photography and illustrations with a large audience, then this opportunity is right for you.

Gain the experience you need to develop your creative skills by joining our team of young content creators!

We’re looking for young people from 14 to 25-years-old to write blogs, make videos and create visuals for the Scouts blog. This is your opportunity to share your adventurous stories with the world and build a creative portfolio.

Your work could be seen by over 410,000 people across the Scouts’ website and social media channels. You’ll gain real experience boosting your CV and future career prospects.

The role is unpaid but flexible, so you’ll be able to fit it around other commitments, at a time that suits you and from the comfort of your own home.

You’ll be expected to pitch ideas twice a month and you’ll need to be able to work on your content independently. If your ideas are commissioned, you will work with an in-house editor based at Gilwell Park, to decide a deadline that works for you.

Depending on your skillset, you can apply to be a young volunteer content creator by telling us about your favourite Scout adventure through either:

•   a 300-500 word article,

•   a video (up to 90 seconds long) or,

•   a photograph, illustration or graphic.

In your application, include a short paragraph about yourself and why you want to take part in this opportunity.

Once you have created your story, submit your application to celeste.houlker@scouts.org.uk before 22 September. Successful applicants will hear back by 26 September.

Best of luck!
