News | Vodafone UK and the Vodafone Foundation announces support for Digital Staged Activity Badges
We’re excited to announce the start of our partnership between The Scout Association and Vodafone UK, supported by the Vodafone Foundation.
With the aim of helping young people develop digital skills, our partnership will focus on helping Scouts use digital to support their community and express their creativity while staying safe online. Vodafone UK will be helping develop new online tools and resources, launching later in the year, to help leaders deliver the Digital Citizen and Digital Maker Staged Activity Badges.
Media coverage and our Digital Manifesto
Look out for coverage in print and especially on social media about the partnership, and also our Digital Manifesto that has also been developed to provide young people with six clear, concise and easy to understand goals so that they can use digital technology in a safe, smart, creative and responsible way. The full manifesto is as follows:
The Scouts’ Digital Manifesto
1. Use digital to learn and embrace new skills
2. Share your adventures digitally and inspire others
3. Know when to switch off, balancing screen time with outdoor activities
4. Use digital skills to support your family and community
5. Use digital to be creative
6. Stay safe online and know the risks

‘The Scouts’ Digital Manifesto will encourage hundreds of thousands of young people to develop a range of key digital skills,’ says Bear Grylls, Chief Scout, ‘empowering them to have even greater adventures as well as helping them to stay safe online.’
In addition to this, Vodafone will be encouraging its 12,500 UK employees to use their volunteering days to support Scouting. More news on this will be provided as the partnership develops. There is no need to contact Vodafone UK directly, either locally or nationally with requests for help.
