Cub Fun Day returns to Wales
Cubs from across Wales gathered for the All Wales Cub Scout Fun Day on Saturday. With nearly 3,000 young people and 1,000 adult volunteers attending, it was one of the biggest Scouting events in Wales.
Held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells, the day was based on the theme of empires and civilisations. Cubs had the chance to take part in over one hundred exciting activities, from climbing to Chinese dragon dancing. They also learned about community projects such as conservation work and recycling.
Despite some inclement weather, the Cubs enjoyed a great taste of adventure. Libby, aged 8, said: 'I had an amazing time today. I did some climbing, went on the water slide and made a window box'.
Ffion, 8, said: 'It’s the biggest thing I’ve been to in Cubs. I loved the inflatables and the wet sponge throwing.'
The next All Wales Cub Scout Fun Day will take place in 2016 to mark the UK’s centenary of Cub Scouting.
