Planning for change

News

After 16 years as an integral part of the leadership team for The Scout Association, Chief Executive Derek Twine CBE is retiring from his role.

Chairman Sir Alan Craft said: 'Derek has been an outstanding Chief Executive and his efforts have played a significant part in helping establish the strong position the Movement finds itself in today. His dedication, vision and passion for Scouting will be greatly missed, and he will be leaving with our warmest thanks and appreciation.'

The search now begins to find Derek's successor.

The process has been carefully planned to ensure there is a handover period between Derek and the new Chief Executive during 2013. Further announcements will be made when a successor is appointed to confirm the handover date and acknowledge the work Derek has done for Scouting.
