Risk Management Specialist

The Scout Association’s Risk Committee is seeking one or two risk management specialists to join the committee. The role is pro bono but reasonable expenses will be paid in accordance with the Association’s Expenses Policy.

The ideal candidate would be a risk professional with experience of youth sector and safeguarding, who would ideally be a current member of Scouting. We are also looking for a second candidate who would ideally have an understanding of risk, control assessments and internal audit – being a current Scouting member would be desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills with the ability to influence others.

The Scout Association faces a wide range of risks. The risk management specialist must be able to draw on a wide range of experience and be familiar with the range of techniques and systems to ensure the Association’s risk management arrangements are appropriate.

A relevant qualification, such as the Diploma from the IRM, or more than ten years risk management experience is desirable.
