Assistant UK Youth Commissioner for Programme

We are looking to recruit an Assistant UK Youth Commissioner for Programme who will have the opportunity to work closely with our current UK Youth Commissioners to support 500,000 scouts from across the UK in becoming more Youth Shaped.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role* will be focussed on delivering the Programme objectives of the Youth Shaped strategy to 2020 to ensure that the Programme in all sections will be designed and delivered by young people in partnership with Young Leaders and adult volunteers. This includes:

• Ensuring young people are able to make decisions on the badges, activities and residential experiences they want to participate in and the running of lodge, six and patrol schemes.

• Ensuring Scouts, Explorers and Scout Network members have the tools to plan, deliver and review sectional programmes.

• Supporting sectional forums to be run and managed by young people supported by leaders and local Youth Commissioners.

• Support and championing of the YouShape campaign.

*Please note this role is specifically for young people aged 18-24 years old at the time of applying.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend an induction weekend from Friday 9 - Sunday 11 June at Gilwell Park.
