24th World Scout Jamboree – UK Food House Manager
We are looking to recruit a volunteer to manage the UK Food House for the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America in 2019.
The Jamboree organisers have requested that Contingents provide food houses to support and enhance the overall Jamboree and to provide evening activity which is key to the participant experience.
The UK Contingent vision is that the Food House will deliver a unique space which would allow participants, Leaders, International Service Team and visitors to embrace UK culture, food and entertainment and where they can express themselves and entertain others, whilst making friendships from across the world.
This role will be part of the UK Contingent Management Team and report directly to a Deputy Contingent Leader, and work in partnership with the Events Steering Group, UK HQ Staff and others to deliver this project.
Applications are encouraged from any member of The Scout Association aged 18 or over on 1 September 2017 who meets the personal specification and are confident in their ability to create a business plan, budget and manage a team of people to deliver a Food House on an event with 45,000 attendees over two weeks.
The Jamboree will take place on 22 July - 2 August 2019 at The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, USA. This is a campsite like no other covering 14,000 acres and is one of the most environmentally sustainable human habitats ever built for Scouts.
