Donating to the Heritage Collection

Developing the Heritage Collection to ensure it tells a comprehensive UK Scouting story is crucial. We are able to develop the Collection through the kind donations of current and former Scouts and their families.

Donations do not have to be historic, we also collect contemporary material which in the future will help tell the story of early 21st century Scouting. We also are looking to collect material from the last 30 years, particularly that relating to changes in Scouting such as the development of the Beavers section or welcoming girls into all sections of Scouting.

If you think you might have items to donate to the Heritage Collection please contact the team on heritage@scouts.org.uk so we can take you through the donations procedures. Please don’t arrange post or delivery of items until we’ve discussed whether we are able to accept the donation. Sadly we don’t have the resources to take everything we are offered for the Collection, this may be because we already hold duplicate items or the items fall outside of our Collecting Policy.

Further details are available in the Donating an item to the Heritage Collection guide.
